Episode 452: Doris Duke and the Murder of Eddie Tirella

On a cold October afternoon in 1966, billionaire heiress Doris Duke returned to her palatial Newport estate in the company of friend and interior decorator Eduardo Tirella, stopping her car just outside the large iron gate that barred entrance to the driveway. Having offered to open the gate, he stepped out of the car and walked toward the gate, when the car began rolling forward, knocking Eduardo to the ground and crushing him under the two-ton weight of Duke’s station wagon. Within four days of Tirella’s death, the Newport Police had closed the case, calling it an “unfortunate accident,” but the residents of Newport, Rhode Island weren’t as convinced.

A good one

I’m glad they finally did an interesting story without a guest star and without speaking on politics. It’s been awhile.

Good Story...if you can get past the F*bomb

This is my first MORBID podcast. Enjoyed the story and the history. Didn't enjoy the language. Don't understand why people today have to drop the F*bomb every little bit or overuse the word "like." I stopped counting at 23 F*bombs. The story could just as easily have been told without the F*word. Like O-ma-gosh, why do these "performers" have to like use the F-word so much? Like don't they know it makes them sound like f-ing ignorant and stuff, like?...well...I won't go on...hope you get my point. Obviously, my Overall Rating is based on the story more so than the performance.
