Episode 4: Call For the Ball

Simon spoke to Vicky Neal about the programme idea Call For the Ball. She said "Last year, we were there for our community through our Here For U's programme. In this latest lockdown, our new initiative is Call For The Ball. To boost physical & mental wellbeing, initially for children in CB1-CB5 postcodes, we're giving new footballs to those that do not own one. Those requesting one were asked to fill in this Google Form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FA... We had 100 balls in our equipment sheds donated by Sports Directory UK. However in the first 24 hours, we received over 300 requests from children with CB1-CB5 postcodes; the vast majority of whom were on Free School Meals. We would like to extend this offer to other postcodes now and need your support to buy some more footballs and deliver them! If there are funds remaining unused to buy balls, we will use them to support our Education work. We develop and deliver innovative primary school education programmes using sport as a non-traditional educational tool which supports over 5,000 children across Cambridgeshire.
