Shortcuts make for Barbaric Yelps!
In this episode of my backpacking trek from San Diego, CA, to Calais, ME. I traverse through the San Jacinto mountains into the California desert. On my way down to Palm Desert, I take a shortcut that proves to be anything but.
I also visit the Coachella Valley National Wildlife Refuge and Oasis and the General George S. Patton Memorial Museum while long-distance desert hiking and camping.
