Episode 3: Paapa Essiedu

Of all the people to ignore a call from Before The Lights, Paapa Essiedu has the best excuse yet.

The boys find out why he didn’t answer the phone and get to the bottom of how he became the only person they’ve ever met to pick up an injury while sat in an armchair.

With Josh being late for the recording, there’s a chance for David and Paapa’s bromance to flourish as they discuss how they trained during lockdown with some of the biggest gym equipment known to man before finding out how an accidental injury ended up on screen.

They also chat about how missing out on awards helped boost the profile of ‘I May Destroy You’ and open the door for more talented writers like Michaela Coel. 

Recorded on location at Before The Lights in summer 2021, following all Covid restrictions in place at the time.
