Episode 211: The Great Molasses Flood

For their last episode of 2025, Katie and Liz continue the tradition of talking about big events to close out the year. What could be better than discussing the Great Molasses Flood of Boston? An unseasonably warm January day in 1919 would live on infamously as a 50 foot tall metal tank containing over 2.3 million gallons of molasses burst, creating a giant tidal wave. The force of the dense molasses killed 21 people and injured over 150 more, killed dozens of horses and swept buildings off of their foundations.
