Episode 2: The Scenic Route

God led the Children of Israel to the wilderness to prove to them what was in their heart. Wilderness seasons reveal who you are, your location (where you are in God), your vocation (your calling and purpose), and it gives education (lessons for your new place). It is a transition to get you to the promise, not punishment.
