Kal, Peaches and Leif go to rescue the Mae-Jay but find their plans are hardly unpredictable. The Cosmic Coalition and Earth Alliance are still feeling their way after 100 years of non-communication, while Kal's reluctance to listen to old Military Academy colleague Quin Tett seems to be playing nicely into Earth Ambassador Megah Dunt's hands.
