In this episode, hosts Drew Schlosberg and David Boone discuss the San Diego Military Advisory Council's (SDMAC) Emergency Action Group (EAG) and its collaboration with Feeding San Diego and the Armed Services YMCA, which are respectively led by guests Bob Kamensky and Frank Martin. The EAG was formed to address potential government shutdowns and emergencies, exemplified by the 2025 Murphy Canyon airplane crash. The group coordinated food and support services, delivering 50-pound boxes of non-perishables. Feeding San Diego reported a 400,000-person food insecurity issue, with 100,000 being children. The Armed Services YMCA supports military families with childcare and employment assistance. Both organizations emphasize the importance of volunteerism and financial contributions.
