We’ll give you a hint : it rhymes with batholic and ends with church… We’re not gonna sugarcoat it, Coven. This week’s episode is anything but lite. But sometimes we have to share the hard things in the hopes of making change. In 1969, Sister Cathy Cesnik was found murdered, her body dumped on a hillside, hidden in snow. The case went cold for years, until students from Archbishop Keough High School came forward in 1994 with damning accusations of sexual abuse and murder. This case lays blame at the feet of an institution that’s been perpetuating sex crimes against minors for years, while taking zero accountability for their actions. In a city like Baltimore, where Catholicism reigns supreme, priests like Father Joseph Maskell were considered an extension of God and never questioned. Add in corruption from local police departments and interference from the Baltimore Archdiocese, and you’ve got yourself a case impossible to prove. Who killed Sister Cathy? We think it’s pretty clear.
