Join us after a long month away, only some of which Kat spent stuck trying to get home from Los Angeles. We’ll go over the events of AEW Revolution and discuss continuing storylines from Dynamite, Collision, and a bit of Ring of Honor in context.
[5:30] Zero Hour: comin’ in hot with the Costco Guys vs. the Infantry; white people continue to love Wayne Brady; Willow Nightingale, Lena Kross, and Chekhov’s belt defense; and we’ve shaken out the whole toybox of dudes for the 21-man Blackjack Battle Royale…
[15:09] Revolution, Act I: in medias res for Ricochet and Jack Perry in the ultimate Curls vs. Bald National title showdown; the impossible decision of when to pee during a PPV; FTR and the Bucks bring the drama (and lure Cope & Cage out from hibernation, finally); Toni Storm vs. Marina Shafir with no one at ringside, mostly (also: MINA!!); Mox retains the Continental belt vs. Takeshita and Kat’s pissed about it; the Billy Goat returns and presumably has no idea what’s going on! Bonus: electoral regrets.
[35:00] Revolution, Act II: an abrupt Women’s Tag Team Championship match between the Babes of Wrath and Divine Dominion leaves us wanting much more; Swerve and Brody determine for once and all who is Thee Most Dangerous (and Kenny stops playing Street Fighter for a moment); and Thekla and Kris go hard and sleazy for two out of three falls for the Women’s World Championship. We speculate on the women’s championship scene and the impending return of Mercedes Moné.
[50:24] Revolution, Act III: the Trios Championship gives us joy, new gear, and opportunities to sing along with Místico; DCF drama; Andrade and Bandido strip for the stars; we detour re: Ring of Honor’s new studio setup and Hechicero’s CMLL HeavyWorld Championship; Roddy gives in and accepts that he loves Orange Cassidy (at least as a projectile); we don’t enthuse about Darby Allin or The Dogs, particularly; and last but certainly not least: Hangman Adam Page hangs himself by his own dog collar, with his own stip that no one asked for, and we’re ready to talk about it (and the men’s championship scene)!
[1:35:50] Post-Revolution odds and ends: Kevin Knight and Okada have us hollering! We’re girding our loins for Dynasty! It ain’t a party unless it’s a Death Riders party! Whither Ospreay? Luchasaurus should not be driving! Plus: a teensy bit of catching up with Ring of Honor, including Trent’s Thriller dance and a lot of love for Maya World.
