Your Nightly Prayer 🙏🏾 Philippians 2:3

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. -Proverbs 18:21

DEVOTION
Based on Proverbs 18
Words are weapons or medicine, poison or nourishment—we choose which every time we speak. Solomon reveals the terrifying and wonderful truth: our tongues hold the power of life and death. A sentence can destroy a reputation, crush a spirit, or end a relationship.

But that same tongue can speak hope to the hopeless, courage to the fearful, and love to the lonely. We eat the fruit of our words—bitter or sweet, we taste what we’ve sown. This proverb isn’t about positive thinking but recognizing words as spiritual forces. When we grasp this power, we become careful gardeners of our speech, planting seeds of life wherever we go.
A.C.T.S. REFLECTION
ADORATION: Lord, Your words created galaxies and raised the dead. You speak, and darkness flees. Your words are spirit and life, never returning empty but accomplishing Your purposes.

CONFESSION: I confess I've used my tongue carelessly, speaking death through gossip, criticism, and harsh words. I’ve wounded those I love most with verbal arrows I can't take back.

THANKSGIVING: Thank You for speaking life over me when I deserved death. Thank You for Your Word that brings healing and hope. Thank you for forgiveness when my words have brought harm.

SUPPLICATION: Father, help me guard my tongue like a city gate. Make my words fountains of life, not poison. Give me wisdom to speak truth in love and courage to stay silent when silence is golden.

PRAYER
“Let nothing be done through strife or vain glory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.”
PHILIPPIANS 2:3
Dear Lord, You do not flaunt Your divinity or exploit us for selfish gain. You humbly served Your people even to the point of death on a cross! What a mysterious and wonderful truth that is. We have a God that bends down humbly to bless us, and laid down His own life to redeem us. I pray that You would give me the mind of Christ. I do not want to operate for my own glory and self-gratification. I want to humbly serve those around me and glorify You, oh Lord. Teach me every day how to emulate Your lowliness, and give me opportunities to exercise humility. In Jesus’ name, Amen. 🙏🏾
