In this class, we’ll explore verses 7.29–30 of the Bhagavad Gita, where Krishna reveals that different kinds of people come to Him in devotion—some for relief, some for knowledge, some for liberation, and some purely out of love. Here, He adds another group: those who seek freedom from birth and death. What unites all these devotees is that by taking shelter in Krishna, they make real spiritual progress, no matter their starting point.
We’ll break down what it actually means to “know transcendental reality”—not just as an abstract idea, but as a living conviction that “I am spirit, not matter,” and that my true fulfillment comes from serving Krishna. We’ll also look at how Krishna is the guiding principle behind everything—the material world (adhibhūta), the demigods (adhidaiva), and sacrifice itself (adhiyajña)—and why remembering Him in this way is the key to staying steady, even at the time of death.
For Arjuna on the battlefield, this truth was a lifeline. For us, it’s a reminder that whatever our motives, if we sincerely turn toward Krishna, He directs us back to His lotus feet. The goal isn’t to fit into a category—it’s to wholeheartedly live as the spirit soul, cultivate Krishna consciousness, and let that remembrance carry us through life’s most critical moments.
