In this first English episode, I explore how exclusion begins long before the word “discrimination” appears. It emerges quietly — in subtle signals, small hesitations, and social patterns that shape who is heard and who gradually disappears. These mechanisms operate not only in healthcare, but across education, workplaces, and society.
Drawing on research from social psychology, cognitive science, and behavioural medicine, I discuss how implicit bias, group identity, hierarchy, and micro-interactions influence belonging and human wellbeing. I also reflect on personal experiences and on what it takes to move from silence to awareness, and from awareness to meaningful change.
This episode builds on the themes of my book Cutting into the Silence, and marks a new phase in which I explore these dynamics independently and in my own voice.
