In the premiere episode of Behind the Red Serge, we open the door to a hidden world of silence, complicity, and institutional protection. The story centers around an alleged sexual assault involving a member of the RCMP during a detachment Christmas party in 2015.

What began as a festive gathering among colleagues ended in a disturbing incident behind closed doors — one that would later be described in testimony as involving non-consensual sexual contact while the victim was unconscious. Despite initial internal awareness, the investigation moved slowly, shielded by layers of bureaucracy and camaraderie within the force.
