To make the Basin City Blackout:

Ingredients

• 2 oz rye whiskey
• 1 oz black vermouth
• ¼ oz maraschino liqueur
• 2 dashes Angostura bitters
• cherry for garnish

Instructions

1. Add whiskey, vermouth/amaro, maraschino liqueur, and bitters to a mixing glass with ice.
2. Stir until chilled and silky.
3. Strain into a chilled coupe or lowball glass.
4. Garnish with a single red cherry—let it sink like a drop of color in a black‑and‑white frame.
