Ep. 233 - Individualism versus Collectivism | Duncan Reyburn and Kruptos

I am joined by Duncan Reyburn, an author, Associate Professor and scholar with work mainly on René Girard, Marshall McLuhan, and GK Chesterton, as well as Kruptos, a Christian commentator and writer. I brought these two thinkers together to discuss the recent debate within and between conservative, libertarian and classically liberal circles regarding the dichotomy between individualism and collectivism. Both my guests don't think its's that simple. This debate was ignited after New York mayor Zohran Mamdani said in his inaugural address that, "We will replace the frigidity of rugged individualism with the warmth of collectivism."
