Their first kiss

My very favorite part is where Miles comes back to Bath and Abby is so overjoyed to see him that she forgets herself and rushes towards him, “You’ve cone back! Oh, you *have* come back!” He grabs her and ruthlessly kisses her.

Abby says that Miles had caught her unawares and if the butler had only announced him their kiss would never have happened. To which Miles replies:

“Well, you might not have kissed me, but I had every intention of kissing you.”
