Story of Jesus' birth and first few years:
- Matthew 1:18-2:23
- All throughout these verses, we see how God was guiding and orchestrating all the events surrounding the life of Jesus.
- There are between 3 and 400 prophecies about Jesus in the Old Testament, and everyone of them was fulfilled!
- Isaiah 46:8-11 ESV: Remember this and stand firm, recall it to mind, you transgressors, remember the former things of old; for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose,’ calling a bird of prey from the east, the man of my counsel from a far country. I have spoken, and I will bring it to pass; I have purposed, and I will do it.
- Proverbs 21:30 ESV: No wisdom, no understanding, no counsel can prevail against the Lord.
- Once, when I was thinking about how Jesus’ birth and life were orchestrated for all that to happen, the Holy Spirit told me that He was just as mindful of my life and was orchestrating all the details for me, too!
- Psalm 138:8
- NKJV: The LORD will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O LORD, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands.
- NLT: The LORD will work out his plans for my life— for your faithful love, O LORD, endures forever. Don’t abandon me, for you made me.
- He knows where you are.
- Psalm 37:23 NLT: The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.
- Proverbs 16:9 NKJV: A man’s heart plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.
- Proverbs 19:21 NLT: You can make many plans, but the LORD’s purpose will prevail.
- Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV: Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
Philippians 1:6 NIV: Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
