While we love Harry Potter, we do not condone or agree with its creator’s ignorant opinions. We stand with the trans community.

We will be rereading the books and rewatching the movies to do a chapter-by-chapter, scene by scene comparison of how our favorite book series was brought to life! In this episode, we introduce ourselves and some of the ideas that we have for this podcast.

Love this Podcast - exactly what I was looking for

I was first introduced to the Harry Potter books in the summer of 2000 on my 9th birthday. My friend and her brother gifted my twin brother and me HP Books 2 and 3 and told us that 1 wasn't at the store. Our parents read Book 2 to us, then bought Book 1 because obviously we were hooked. Now, of course, I've read all the books and seen all the movies. Recently, I listened to all the Harry Potter audiobooks twice through, and rather than listening to them on repeat like Ellen does, I wanted to take a break and search for a Podcast. I've never been a Podcast listener so I really didn't know what I was looking for. Several Harry Potter themed podcasts are available on Audible. I tried a couple and didn't feel like I was getting anything out of them. I wanted to learn something while listening to the podcast that I might have missed. I didn't want to be more knowledgable than the podcasters. But there were so many to choose from, I was a bit lost. Finally I did a good old fashioned Google search for the best Harry Potter podcasts and I read the descriptions for each of the 30 or so listed. Just Keep Rowling instantly caught my attention, because it was described as a book-movie compare and contrast podcast. As someone who will pause an HP movie to announce to the room all the differences from the respective book, I finally knew what I was looking for. I've listened to several JKR podcast episodes and I can confidently say I have found the perfect podcast for me. Ellen and Keighty are truly experts and I enjoy listening to their perspectives and all the similarities and differences between the books and movies that they point out. The Potter Ponderings, trivia questions, and Sorting Hat stories are a great way to keep the listeners (or "Keepers") engaged. Highly recommend!
