Emunah Mediation #22 - Speaking to God?

In this meditation we explore one of the biggest blocks that people have to speaking to God. Most of us bring baggage into this relationship and the secret behind the baggage is that we are projecting our old relationships with key figures in our lives, particularly our parents and caretakers from early childhood, on to our image of God. This can bring up unpleasant feelings particularly to those raised in religious environments that were not positive for them as children. In this meditation we explore the word that we use to refer to God and choose a word or name that does not include all of those old projections. Recognize that we really do want to be in a relationship and communication with God we just may need to use a different name. In this meditation we help you identify what that name will be so that you can begin a new relationship with the Divine.
