Joshua Travis Dickerson Sr. is a distinguished alumnus of Griffin High School and Georgia State University. His commitment to education led him to a fulfilling career as an educator within the DeKalb County School system, where his dedication was recognized with the prestigious title of 2007-2008 DeKalb County Teacher of the Year for Jolly Elementary.

Currently serving as the Executive Director of a non-profit organization in Metro Atlanta, Mr. Dickerson continues to make a positive impact on the community. He is the visionary behind several empowering youth programs and has been instrumental in establishing chess and robotic clubs at various locations in Atlanta. Leveraging his extensive experience and genuine love for children, Mr. Dickerson actively trains teachers and administrators, imparting innovative ways to incorporate literacy into daily educational activities.

Recognizing the profound impact of positive role models in a child's life, Mr. Dickerson finds immense pride in being a devoted father of four. He understands firsthand the significance of such influences. A fervent writer and author, his compelling poem, "Cause I Ain't Got a Pencil," has sparked meaningful conversations on a global scale.
