We have to pray in other tongues because God wants us to, it builds us up in our Spirit, it helps us pray God's perfect will, it helps us pray when we don't know what to pray, it disciplines the mind and soul, it brings rest and refreshment, it gives us direct communication with God, it helps us worship in the Spirit, it strengthens us against spiritual attacks and helps us give thanks well. God wants us to receive these gifts he offers us! Our spirit and flesh are always at war, we have to allow our spirit to take over so our mind and soul don't dominate.
