Electronic Devices are they beneficial for children with Autism

Is the Ipad or tablet devices beneficial or not beneficial? Does the Ipad make our children more functional or hinder them. How well does society accept the Ipad? I feel like this is subject that is not discussed enough and is a debate that we parents and care takers go through on a daily.
