The 24 hour clock etc was as he well knew an Egyptian innovation. To understand the full implications one would do well to know something of the Egyptian magick of the sky and especially their Star Clocks.

  • Phenomenal Sorcery (Egyptian Magical Religion) ep 61
    Jan 3 2025

“Dave Smith, after laying down an extensive and comprehensive foundation for practicing magick in an Information Model, delivers an incredibly practical, useful and no-nonsense set of techniques and tools for doing magick! I highly recommend picking up this work and putting it into practice!” — Joshua Wetzel, author of The Paradigmal Pirate and Ill Thoughts, Ill Words, Ill Deeds: A Toxick Magick primer. As technology advances, it is only natural that we find more effective ways to integrate it into magical practice. We now live in the so-called information age, and we have taken great advantage of this fact. This book investigates the nature of information and reality, and how magic that is used manipulate the former can cause changes in the latter. To seize control of one's own fate is a subversive act, and the aim of this work is to provide a set of models and tools which facilitate this capability. A system of exercises and ritual structures are presented within this paradigm which will enable the practitioner to manifest their Will. Supporting concepts in information theory, computer science, artificial intelligence, semiotics, philosophy, and pop culture are also described as a framework in which to create a personal system of informational magic, or Phenomenal Sorcery.

  • Egyptian Books of Thoth (Egyptian Magick Podcast) Episode 60 rev
    Dec 27 2024

I’ve talked quite a lot about Thoth mostly in the podcast, especially episode 7 based on material from my books. I can’t promise not to repeat myself but here I want to return to the subject, and not for the final time, as Thoth is such an important entity, our paths are bound to cross. Thoth is a god of magick, and also, not surprisingly writing, the hieroglyphs being devised as a tool or expression of magick. Any utterance of Thoth was considered a magical spell, the use of the term spell, showing how inextricably linked magick and words are. And indeed there is something unique about the human ability to form the complex flow of phonemes we call speech. Two things there, language and speech, are very special. Thoth is usually depicted with a human body and the head of the sacred ibex, his most popular avatar. He can also be described as an ape or baboon. In the earlier podcasts, i often emphasise an opening rite I call the Abydos arrangement and the sevenfold rite that flows from this, what I call the “sefkhet”. Sefkhet meaning seven, most commonly personified as the goddess Seshat, the female scribe, the one with the seven-rayed headdress or crown. She is the daughter of Thoth and Maat and shares some of their features, holding the same long measuring stick with which she and Thoth keep a tally of space and time.

    Nov 17 2024

Cosmologies of Ancient Egypt Cosmology is defined as “the science of the origin and development of the universe. Modern cosmology is dominated by the Big Bang theory, which brings together observational astronomy and particle physics.” Hence the lyrics of the song from the popular TV comedy Here cosmology is the aspect of modern science that most overlaps with the interests of our distant ancestors. So in a nutshell the cosmology of Egypt breaks down into two principles: One male, one female
