Welcome to the Emerald Water Anglers Podcast, Undercurrent!
In episode one, Dave McCoy and Matt DeLorme sit down in the fly shop and talk about our vision for the podcast, what Dave believes a fly shop should look like, it's place in the fly fishing community and what to expect in future episodes.
There is a lot to unwrap here. Why are we doing a podcast? What role should a fly shop play in this space? Why someone's first step into the sport of fly fishing and what that step is are so very important to their future. Will probably have to follow this up down the road to explain in greater detail our vision and to hammer it home a bit further.
Join us for our maiden voyage and thank you for listening!
About Host | Dave McCoy:
Raised in Eugene, Oregon, my stomping grounds were of legendary namesake; the Deschutes, McKenzie and North Umpqua Rivers among others. I quickly discovered the thrill of having a fish on but was always in awe of my surroundings. My early exposure to water in all forms led me away from fly fishing to pursue a career as a ski race coach but was always mindful of what fly fishing brought to my life. I have a habit of relentlessly pursuing the effort to exceed expectations and create a more inclusive narrative for this sport.
