Get to Know Lori:

Lori Schultz is the Development Outreach Events Strategist for UW Health Kids, where she works with Community Partners to raise funds for American Family Children’s Hospital. A valued member of the UW Health Events Team since 2015, Lori brings a wealth of experience in building relationships and creating stewardship opportunities with the donors and partners she works with annually. She attends numerous events throughout the year working with groups that range in size from school groups to large cooperation's. Lori also coordinates, organizes and executes the annual American Family Children’s Hospital Radiothon where she works with the staff and leadership at Mid-West Family Broadcasting here in Madison as well as scheduling patient families who share their stories of being treated at our world-class hospital. Lori gets to know the families on a personal level and is able to share their stories with the marketing team and other UW Health event planners when they need a patient family and story to share. Lori has another role with UW Health as a Patient Advocate for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation – Stand Up to Cancer Pediatric Cancer Dream Team. She works closely with the Pediatric Cancer Team here in Madison to help them share their research with the public in terms that everyone can understand. Patient Advocacy is close to Lori’s heart as she lost her daughter Kristina to childhood cancer back in 2007. She knows the importance of research and works to not only bring awareness to the research being done right here in Madison, but also helps to raise money for that all important work.
