At Hudson Taconic Lands, Michala is at the forefront of crafting programs like Forest Conservation Corps and groundbreaking outdoor learning spaces that help students explore, learn, and grow through nature-based experiences right here in Rensselaer County and beyond.

With a background in environmental science and a master’s in parks, recreation, and conservation leadership, she’s deeply committed to making the outdoors a welcoming, empowering place for all young people.

When she’s not building creative youth programs or walking trails with students, Michala can often be found knee-deep in a river, cast at the ready — an avid fly fisherwoman who loves the quiet joy of a good rise and the craft of reading the water.
