Sanctum Arcanum is an actual-play D&D 5e podcast using the official Strixhaven: Curriculum of Chaos module, expanded with original worldbuilding, character-driven storytelling, and high-stakes magical adventure.

✨ In This Episode…With the dust—and the blood—settling from their internal conflict, the party is forced to pivot back to their original objective. The Mage Tower tryouts wait for no one, and Professor Veralda Lang’s task remains unfinished. To secure their place in the tournament, the students must now traverse the varied landscapes of Strixhaven to capture the remaining elusive mascots.

The hunt is on. From tracking the shimmering Quandrix Fractal Snake and the volatile Prismari Fire Deer, to wrangling the Lorehold Stone Cat, the Witherbloom Pest Worm, and the slippery Silverquill Sentient Ink Blob, the party must put aside their grievances. In a race against time and magical chaos, can they work together to round up these creatures, or will the lingering tension cause their mission to unravel?

Following the horrific destruction of his loyal companion, Chunkle, Grunkle’s grief has turned into a murderous rage. With his sights locked firmly on Alex, the party is no longer fighting monsters—they are fighting each other.

As Alex makes a frantic break for the dense, treacherous jungles of the Witherbloom campus, Dennis finds himself caught in the crossfire. Forced to play the role of the shield, Dennis must move to intercept Grunkle before an accident turns into a cold-blooded execution. In the shadows of the bayou, the line between teammate and target disappears.

Grief quickly curdles into a terrifying, singular focus. Enraged by the loss of his best friend and the carelessness that caused it, Grunkle sets his sights on Alex. What began as a simple journey looking for mascots has devolved into a hunt for vengeance, leaving the rest of the party to wonder: can a fellowship survive when one of its own is out for blood?
