Dr Breann Fallon – Holocaust Museums are a call to action

Morry Frenkel speaks with Dr Breann Fallon, recently appointed CEO of the Melbourne Holocaust Museum (MHM) about the role played by museums in general and how Holocaust museums have an important purpose beyond this. Breann also describes the ways in which the MHM is dealing with the challenge of revisionism and the flood of misinformation originating from social networking platforms. She also stresses the importance of recording the testimonies of Survivors who haven’t yet told their stories. Breann talks about the museum’s current exhibition, Portraits of Survival, which is showcasing Anita Lester’s paintings of a number of Melburnians who are Holocaust Survivors. The exhibition runs until January 18th, 2026 at the museum, located at 13-15 Selwyn Street in Elsternwick.
