  • The Hanging Tree (Cul-De-Sacrifice)
    Oct 10 2025

Tonight, we'll hear a chilling yarn in the shade of the old hanging tree!

Pardon the lack of introduction-- I'm still dealing with the fallout of losing my old recording machine. Drats!

We'll follow Baker as he begins to settle into his new home. A neighbor drops by with a housewarming gift-- but that's not all. She shares with him the strange tradition that she claims has kept their quiet little court safe, and he must participate... or else.

This story is called "Cul-De-Sacrifice", and was written by Darren Todd. It is the titular story from his upcoming collection! If you enjoy it, please make sure to support him and grab a copy when it comes out later this month.

  • What It Takes
    Sep 26 2025

Tonight, we’ve got two stories in one! Well, so to speak.

Our story opens upon a man with a lead, chasing it down to New Orleans, where he meets a woman in a bar with some information.

Our scene fades to black and reopens upon Riff, a young student who is high above his school’s theater eating lunch in the catwalk! It’s quiet there, and he can enjoy his lunch in peace. But when two students dip into the green room, Riff witnesses something he wasn’t supposed to see—and no it’s not hanky panky!

This story is called “What It Takes”, and was written by Darren Todd

  • The Old Blood
    Sep 19 2025

Tonight, we’ll visit an old friend in the family.

Yes, that family—the mob! Do you recall the story The Man for the Job? If not, I’ll link it on your screen for those on Youtube, and I’ll put a link in the show notes for our podcast listeners. In The Man for the Job, we met two hired hands working for the Gorecki crime family who were tasked with burying a certain item on consecrated ground, and—as usual—things didn’t go as planned.

Today, we’ll catch up with the new boss of the Gorecki family, and find out if dreams really do come true! Ha ha ha ha

This story is called “The Old Blood” and was written by A.G. Hilton

  • Some Ghost Towns Shouldn't Be Explored
    Sep 5 2025

Denizens of the night, welcome to another episode of the macabre; the terrifying.

Tonight, we’ll visit a GHOST TOWN!

Don’t you just love the idea of a ghost town? Heck, even the name itself sets the mood. The three friends in tonight’s story seem to agree with me, which is why they head out to visit one after hearing about it at a local bar.

Everything seems normal enough when they arrive. But the thing about ghost towns is that there’s always a reason they became ghosts.

This story is called Some Abandoned Towns Shouldn't be Explored, and was written by J.L. Goodwin

Denizens of the night—welcome to another episode of the macabre; the terrifying!

Tonight, we’ll dip a toe into the creeping fog of a haunted bayou—

(wind blows, a window clangs open, paper flutter)

Holy cow! That startled me! It’s pretty windy out there tonight. Something blew inside the studio… Let’s see here.

Well well well! It’s a letter! And it’s addressed to me. Let’s have a look.

  • The Story of William Wilson
    Aug 22 2025

Tonight, we’ll hear the tale of a precocious young man, and his frenemy with the same name!

In their youth, the pair were a perfect balance to one another. But as the protagonist grows older, he begins to notice his friend resembles him more and more each day—even adopting the same clothing and stride.

As he steals into his friend’s room to hurt him late one night, he draws back the covers and runs screaming from his school!

This is called “The Story of William Wilson”, and was written by Edgar Allen Poe…

    Aug 8 2025

Tonight, we’ll peek around the corner at a man who finds himself haunted by things unseen!

We’ve all had the experience of feeling a PRESENCE in an empty room, right?

It’s usually a subtle feeling, which begins as an anxiety that a predator is waiting for you just out of sight, ready to strike when your guard is down. I’ve heard it said that this sensation is a vestigial remnant from our collective past, when we were not yet at the top of the food chain.

But what if that’s not true? What if that sensation is not vestigial, but still necessary to keep you safe?

This story is called: "If you ever think you see something peering at you from around a corner, ignore it" , and was written by J.L. Goodwin.

  • Of the Sea (Pt.2)
    Jul 25 2025

Tonight, let’s find out what becomes of our boys upriver.

Allow me to quickly recap the story so far—I will also link the video on your screen so you may watch it first if you wish: 4 friends head out to relax on the water and hang out. They take their jetskis up a tributary to check it out, and find an old boat. Inside there are strange patterns on the walls and an old book.

As they head back up the tributary, one of the friends—Travis—accidentally hits and kills an old man with his jetski. The friends decide to go on home without notifying anyone, and as they speed away, the body left to decay in the sun, a mournful cry echoes through the leaves and across the water…

This story is called “Of the Sea”, and was written by A.G. Hilton…
