Don’t do it for status.
“Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them…” — Matthew 6:1
Jesus is not warning us against doing good.
He is warning us about doing good to be seen.
If we are chasing clout…
If we are chasing admiration…
If we are chasing praise…
If we are worried about being perceived as a good person…
We may gain attention —
but we miss something deeper.
The Kingdom of Heaven is not found in applause.
It is found in compassionate service.
Motivation matters.
If we are moved by kindness…
If we are moved by compassion…
If we are moved by genuine care and concern…
Then even what is done outside the spotlight —
our quiet acts of service,
our unheralded kindness —
becomes the building blocks of a Kingdom
formed from the inside out.
The question is not simply what are we doing?
The question is why are we doing it?

Peace be with you.
