The Australian Medical Association has called for an immediate injection of nearly $35 billion to address Australia's rapidly declining healthcare system. The peak doctor's body says hospital spending needs to be fast-tracked over the next five years to tackle inflated elective surgery and emergency room wait times, plus manage an ageing population.
