Do criticisms of Israel amount to antisemitism?

Israel was quick to label the killing of two of its embassy staff in Washington DC this week as antisemitic. Other officials in the West have followed suit. But as its war in Gaza expands, does criticising Israel amount to antisemitism? And does this narrative serve any purpose?
