🧟‍♂️ DO YOU EVEN BINGE: Episode 23

Halloween night is done and we have a Horror Hangover!

We’re closing out spooky season the only way we know how, by going completely off the rails. This week, we bounce from MTV nostalgia to ankle-slicing trauma to the greatest zombie double feature ever made.

We start with the death of MTV, the moment the Moonman faded into history and the absolute worst Halloween song ever: “Nightmare on My Street” by Fresh Prince. From there, things get bloody fast as we revisit every uncomfortable ankle slice in horror movie history (thanks, Chucky and Pet Sematary, we’re still limping).

Then it’s full-on zombie apocalypse time:
🧠 Night of the Living Dead — Barbara does absolutely nothing while Ben carries the team.
💀 Evil Dead (1981) — trees attack, blood geysers, possessed clocks, and somehow it’s still hilarious.
🍺 Shaun of the Dead — the funniest hangover in horror, complete with Queen blasting in a pub full of zombies.
🇨🇺 Juan of the Dead — Cuban zombies, truck decapitations, and more machete work than OSHA would approve.By the end, it’s chaos, nostalgia, and a little heartbreak... because Halloween’s officially over… but the binge never dies.

  • Episode 22: We Binge Halloween movies! Part 5
    Nov 1 2025
Welcome back to Do You Even Binge Episode 22

It's Halloween night and the binge continues with 🎃 PART 5.

Fright Night vs. Salem's Lot! Halloween Night Binge 🧛‍♀️🧟‍♂️ The Binge has led to this! It's the official Halloween episode, and the chaos is at an all-time high! We dive headfirst into classic vampire terror, and get seriously sidetracked by Fried Bread, TV Guide Crossword Puzzles, and the unbelievable career of Evil Ed from Fright Night. The hosts are in full costume mode for the holiday! One is the Bride of Frankenstein (but is she green enough?) 🧟‍♀️, and the other attempts a DIY Edgar Scissorhands that might be his final form ✂️.

    This Week's Blood-Soaked Lineup & Lunacy:

📺 Salem's Lot (1979 Miniseries): We revisit the classic Stephen King terror that haunted our childhoods. We break down David Soul's groovy 70s writer vibes, the terrifying "Open the window, Mark" scene, and the vampire's hypnotic "siren song" seduction that we somehow missed as kids.

🍎 Fright Night (1985): A true 80s horror masterpiece! We discuss the million-dollar special effects that... don't quite show, the genius behind the original multi-toothed poster mouth, and the real reason vampire Jerry Dandridge was always eating apples. Plus, a look at Stephen Geoffreys' memorable run of horror roles in the 80s.

😂 The Great Debate: Is a cheap, plastic store-bought costume worse than a meticulously sewn clown outfit? We dive into Isaac's costume failure and the legendary tale of Benny Manner's friend in the full Gorilla Suit at a party where no one else dressed up.

😂 Bonus Deep Dive: From TJ Hooker to "Tijuana Hooker," we lament the loss of the Spanish TV Guide (Tel-A-Veez!) and the genius who fills out three crossword puzzles.

🍞 Fry Bread Champion: We get sidetracked talking about Native American fry bread, how great it is with Crisco (or not!), and why it would make a great comedy mockumentary. Tune in, laugh, and relive the classic vampire flicks that made us afraid to sleep with the windows open!

👻 Do You Even Binge? Your home for movie classics, chaotic costumes, and too many tangents.

Welcome back to Do You Even Binge Episode 21

    The Halloween binge continues!

This week, we dive deep into the blood-soaked roots of horror with a lineup that defined the genre and reshaped pop culture. From vampires and slashers to dream demons and supernatural chaos, we’re watching it all.

    This week’s lineup:

🧛 Blade (1998) — Wesley Snipes slices through vampires and bad acting in equal measure. From the infamous club bloodbath to the garlic serum showdown with Frost, we break down how Blade saved Marvel from bankruptcy and changed Hollywood forever.

🎃 Halloween (1978) — Michael Myers makes his silent return to suburbia. From stalking behind the bushes to the unforgettable final showdown with Jamie Lee Curtis, we revisit the moments that made Halloween the slasher blueprint for decades to come.

🔥 A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) — Freddy Krueger invades your dreams (and Johnny Depp’s mattress). We talk Tina’s “Jimmy Legs” death, Nancy’s revenge, and the wild practical effects that still hold up today.

💀 Suspiria (1977) — Dario Argento’s technicolor nightmare. From flying glass to maggots in the hair, we relive the most beautifully disturbing moments of this cult classic.

🔪 Friday the 13th (1980) — Camp Crystal Lake never stood a chance. From Mrs. Voorhees’ killer reveal to that legendary lake jump scare, we cover the film that launched a thousand sequels.

Whether it’s the dripping blood of Blade’s vampire rave, Michael Myers’ slow walk, or Argento’s surreal dream logic, this episode celebrates the chills, the chaos, and the camp that make horror movies worth binging all October.

👻 Do You Even Binge? Your Halloween movie marathon headquarters. Tune in, laugh, scream, and relive the horror classics that made us afraid of everything.

    Oct 18 2025
Welcome back to Episode 20 of Do You Even Binge?

We’re deep into our Halloween binge this week as we dive into a mix of unforgettable and disappointing horror classics.

    We start with the letdowns:
Jason X takes the franchise into space (enough said), and The Blair Witch Project, the found-footage phenomenon that promised terror but left us wondering if it’s one of the most overrated horror movies ever made. From the creepy woods to the infamous “boogers” scene, we break down what worked and what didn’t.

Next, we revisit Carrie, from her awkward first period to prom-night revenge. Between the telekinesis, blood-soaked finale, and over-the-top religious mother, De Palma’s film remains one of the most memorable horror stories of all time.

Then it’s An American Werewolf in London, featuring the greatest transformation scene in horror history and a bizarre dream sequence you’ll never forget. We follow David’s journey from tourist to terror and explore why this movie still holds up decades later.

Finally, we take on Poltergeist, the suburban ghost story that redefined haunted house films. From the clown under the bed to “They’re here,” and the house built on a cemetery, we revisit every spine-tingling moment that made this a classic.

Another week, another Halloween binge. We’re laughing, debating, and scaring ourselves silly all month long. Tune in and binge with us.

First up, Blacula — the first prominent black vampire on screen. We break down the story of African Prince Mamuwalde (William Marshall), cursed by Dracula for refusing to join the slave trade, and his centuries-long search for his reincarnated love in America. We dive into the blaxploitation context, the social commentary, and why this film became a cornerstone for black horror cinema.

Next, Scary Movie — a parody of late ‘90s horror films, where we discuss casting stories (including Anna Faris’ breakout role), the influence of Dimension Studios, and some of our favorite ridiculous moments from this iconic comedy-horror mashup.

Then, we get possessed by The Exorcist — discussing the extended version, Max von Sydow’s Father Merrin, the iconic Regan MacNeil possession, Ouija board chaos, medical investigations gone wrong, priestly interventions, and legendary scenes like the crucifix confrontation and spider-walk. We also touch on the restored footage and fan-favorite elements that make this one of the scariest films ever.

Finally, Vampire in Brooklyn — Eddie Murphy teams up with Wes Craven in a vampire tale with Caribbean roots. We break down the serious intentions behind the film, the studio’s push for comedy, the first appearance of a “familiar” sidekick (Kadeem Hardison), and behind-the-scenes trivia including Murphy’s Nutty Professor trade-off and the infamous wig controversy.

🎙️ Welcome back to Do You Even Binge?

This week, we binge the sci-fi classics Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986), breaking down what makes each film iconic and how they changed the landscape of sci-fi and action movies.

    Main Topic:

Alien (1979) – Written and directed by Ridley Scott. We explore the crew of a commercial starship who discover a nest of alien eggs, leading to one of the most terrifying sci-fi monsters ever created. Saul Bass’ opening credits set the tone for suspense, realism, and a confined, tense atmosphere that keeps you on edge. Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) emerges as the lone survivor, showcasing courage and ingenuity.

Aliens (1986) – Written and directed by James Cameron. Ripley returns after 57 years to a colony now overrun by xenomorphs. Joined by a crew of marines, she must confront the alien threat again. The film introduces intense action sequences, Laurence Fishburne as the Bowery King, and even more focus on weaponry, creating a relentless, high-stakes environment.

    Highlights:
    • Trailers and iconic clips from both films
    • Saul Bass’ legendary opening sequence for Alien
    • Ripley’s evolution as a strong female lead
    • Cameronverse connections: 3 actors from Aliens also appear in the Terminator franchise
    • Key action scenes, including the infamous chestburster and loader fights
    • Family Guy parody and other pop culture references
Stick around as we analyze crew dynamics, iconic sequences, and why these movies remain landmarks in sci-fi cinema decades later. It’s bingeing, but with meaning… kind of...
