Day 269 of the Holy Bible One Year CHALLENGE. Isaiah speaks of God's judgment and mercy, recalling past help, lamenting Israel's sins, and looking forward to a new heaven and earth. Paul urges the Ephesians to ditch their old, sinful ways and to live like the new people they've become in Christ. He gets real specific: no lying, no anger that lasts, and no stealing. Instead, be kind, and forgiving, and imitate God by living a life of love. But hold the phone, and avoid any kind of impurity or greed because those are no-nos for God's holy people.
