Welcome to Day 10 of Divine Hunger — 40 Days of Devotion, Prayer, Fasting & Meditation.

Today’s focus is A Mind Stayed on God—the pathway to spiritual stability and lasting peace.

📖 Scripture Focus: Isaiah 26:3 — “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.”

⚔️ Word Weapons:

  • Psalm 119:97: O how love I thy law! It is my meditation all the day.[1]
  • Isaiah 1:16–20: Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; 17 Learn to do well; uSeek judgment, relieve the oppressed, Judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. 18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; Though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. 19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: 20 But if ye refuse and rebel, Ye shall be devoured with the sword: For the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.[2]
  • Philippians 4:6–8: Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Many believers fall apart at the first disruption to their routine. Anxiety and depression have become familiar companions—not because peace is unavailable, but because there is not enough of the Word within them to rise above life’s turbulence.

Yet the mind can be trained.

Just as an animal can be taught to sit, stay, and respond to commands through consistent training, the human mind can be disciplined by the Word of God. At first, this discipline feels difficult because the mind is accustomed to wandering. But with time, repetition, and obedience, the mind learns where to return.

When your thoughts drift, you can command them to return to God’s Word.

The key is this: The mind cannot stay where it has not been trained to go.

If the Word is not stored within, the mind has nothing to return to. This is why Scripture meditation and memorization are essential. As we learn God’s Word by heart, we gain the ability to focus during prayer, resist distraction, and commune deeply with Him.

Peace is not accidental—it is cultivated. Focus is not automatic—it is trained.

🔥 This devotion is a call to discipline the mind, fill it with truth, and experience the perfect peace promised to those who stay focused on God.
