  • Overcoming the Past - Walk in Newness (Daily Devotional)
    Nov 28 2025
Shalom and it is wonderful that you have joined us for the last episode in this series where we have been looking at overcoming the past. We trust that the different truths that we have looked into through scriptures has blessed you. As we wrap up this series, we are looking at how we can walk in newness. To overcome the past, we can walk in newness. When we come to Christ, something profound happens, we walk in newness. Our old life is crucified with Him and things change and become new. The enemy however wants to drag us to those memories that keep us in the past in order t make us feel unworthy; to make us feel shame but we know our identity is in Christ and we can walk in newness. Romans chapter 6, verse 4 reads, ‘Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.’ Paul reminds us that as Jesus rose from the grave, we are also called to rise into a newness of life. This means that we live with the confidence that the power of the resurrection now works in each of our lives. When you belong to Christ, you no longer have an identity of your own; who you were but it is who you are in Christ. You’re not chained to your past but called forward into His promises. So, walking in newness, what can we decide to do? It is a daily choice, where we refuse to rehearse the past. We don’t keep reliving the old failures in our thoughts. We renew our minds and align our thoughts with God’s truth about who we are in Christ and we receive the mercy of God and His mercies are new every morning and we can walk in that freshness. The past may be part of your story but in Christ, it is not your identity. You are forgiven, restored and empowered to live a transformed life. The same glory and power that raised Jesus from the dead now fuels your walk. So, when we walk in newness, we are confidently stepping forward, unhindered because all of our chains are gone. It is not about again ignoring the past, but refusing to let it dictate our pace or the direction of our journey. When we walk in newness because of Christ, we are tied to walking in freedom because Galatians chapter 5, verse 1 says, ‘it is for freedom that Christ has set us free.’ It says, ‘stand firm then and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.’ Freedom in Christ is not only freedom from something like sin, condemnation and your past but it is also freedom for something; for joy, for obedience, for a purpose and for a life that reflects Him. Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you that we can walk transformed and in newness because of what you have done. Because the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is available to us to live in victory and that newness of life. May we live rejoicing and in joy knowing we are transformed and new in you. Thank you for your word and may this take root in us, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen. • Overcoming the Past - Steps of Faith (Daily Devotional)
    Nov 27 2025
Shalom and thank you for joining us in Living Supernaturally. We have been going through a series of overcoming the past and we pray that this has blessed you and has brought about what God has in store for us to live victorious lives. Through today’s episode, we are looking at how it is important for us to take steps of faith in order to overcome the past. Taking steps of faith is important in overcoming the past. It means acting on your belief in God even when things maybe difficult. This trust in God is despite your feelings and what you’re going through or your circumstance and it is a place where you are moving forward and experiencing healing and transformation because you know who you have trusted. Philippians chapter 3, verses 13 to 14 says, ‘Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.’ This verse uses an analogy of a race, of how we can move forward. It says ‘forgetting’ which means choosing not to dwell on the past experiences to control or limit us and ‘moving forward’ requires accepting the grace and forgiveness that God has. It says straining towards what is ahead. What does that describe? It describes an active effort to move one step at a time, in faith towards the promises and purposes of God, just like an athlete striving for the finish line. A powerful example from the bible of taking steps of faith is where we see Peter after he denies Jesus. I’m sure Peter carried the heavy weight of guilt and shame for denying Jesus three times on the night of Jesus’ arrets. That moment probably could have defined him forever. But when the risen Christ appears to Peter, Jesus didn’t condemn him, instead, He restored him by asking him three times do you love me and then commissioning him to feed His sheep. Peter’ story reflects this- forgetting what is behind, just like we see in Philippians chapter 3. Peter had to let go of that failure and not remain trapped in that shame. Jesus’ forgiveness helped him and freed him to move forward. Instead of being paralyzed by his past, Peter embraced that calling and he stepped out in faith and we see he boldly preached at Pentecost where 3000 people came to faith. We see that he strained towards what was ahead. How can we start taking steps? First and foremost, it is to surrender to the plan of God. Exchanging your plans for God’s promises and submitting to Him trusting that He will guide your path. The next thing is to embrace His promises- believing and holding on to God’s promises. Lastly, it is to act in faith- to persevere one step at a time, holding onto the promises of God. So, as we overcome our past, let’s move forward one step at a time in faith. Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you for teaching us that we do not have to be held back by our past but we can keep moving forward. May we do so in faith knowing that your forgiveness and grace have shown us the way forward. May we be bold to take steps in faith by the power of the Holy Spirit, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen. • Overcoming the Past - Beauty from Ashes (Daily Devotional)
    Nov 26 2025
Shalom and welcome once again to another episode of Living Supernaturally. As we are looking into God’s word through this series, we have been looking at overcoming the past and we have looked at different aspects in the bible that teaches and shows us how we can live lives of victory. In today’s episode, we are looking at how we can have beauty from ashes. As we have been looking and seeing that when we walk through difficult moments or painful seasons, it can sometimes feel that our lives are reduced to nothing and reduced to ashes. All we notice is brokenness but God does His best work in broken places. He is the restorer! We read in Isaiah chapter 61, verse 3, ‘To all who mourn in Israel, he will give beauty for ashes, joy instead of mourning, praise instead of despair. Fo the lord has planted hem like strong and graceful oaks planted for his own glory.’ This verse directly speaks to those who are mourning, suffering loss or who are broken. Zion here in this verse refers to God’s people and this shows that God is attentive to those in brokenness. He is not distant but He draws near with His comfort and hope. He just doesn’t take away the ashes but He gives beauty in exchange for them. He doesn’t ignore the mourning but He brings gladness and joy. The verse shows us that God doesn’t only heal but He transforms. He makes things new and brings beauty out of all the mess. Beauty from ashes means that God can bring meaning even in brokenness, even at a time of suffering. Strength can arise even at a time of weakness where our lives become a testimony in the place of pain. God promises to replace the ashes of our broken past with a crown of beauty which is a symbol of honor and dignity. God does even more. In another version of this verse, it says, they would be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor. Oaks are strong rooted trees. If you are broken and grieving, you will become strong, stable and deeply rooted in God’s righteousness. Your transformed life is what will reveal God’s glory to the world, that is a picture of transformation. So, God takes the worst of our lives and replaces them with beauty, joy and praise. Not only does He heal us, but He uses our restored lives to really display who He is and His goodness. So, would you believe that God can take away all our ashes and make it and transform it into beauty? Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, I speak over all who are here today listening who feel broken. We hold on to your promise that you’re the one who changes ashes to beauty, mourning to joy. Thank you for what you have restored back to us. Because of what you have done for us; we can live in victory. May there be joy in laughter in place of weakness and sadness. Thank you for your grace, in Jesus’ name, Amen. Thank you for tuning in to Living Supernaturally, for more resources to strengthen your spiritual walk, please visit apcwo.org. • Overcoming the Past - Releasing Guilt and Shame (Daily Devotional)
    Nov 24 2025
Shalom, it is so wonderful to have you join us here for another time of devotional, where we look into God’s word and delve into the topic of overcoming the past. Through the last two episodes, we have looked at what it means to overcome the past. Today, we are looking at how do we release guilt and shame. When we go through things in the past, we carry moments we all wish we could undo, the words that we have spoken in anger, the choices we have made, the sin committed, or even regrets that keep the guilt and the shame coming back to us. We know that if guilt and shame is unchecked, it can become like heavy burdens or chains that keep us down and it keeps us tied to the past. But the cross of Christ is a representation of all of our sins, shame and guilt being nailed to the cross. Psalm chapter 34, verse 5 says, ‘They looked to Him and were radiant, and their faces were not ashamed.’ This verse reminds us that all who look to Him will have radiant faces, not weighed down, not cowering in shame, not hiding in guilt but glowing with the light of His grace, being radiant with His grace. Why is that? Because when we look to Jesus, we do not see condemnation, we see forgiveness, we do not see judgment but we see mercy. We see love that covers all our sin and invites us close to Him. So, Jesus didn’t come to shame us but save us. He took our guilt and shame of all that we have done in the past on Himself so that we do not have to carry it anymore. So, we must let go of our guilt and shame and when we look to God, know that we are not defined by our failures or by our shortcomings but we can face the future with hope and face it without the burden of shame. It is the radiance of God that reflects on our faces and lives. The more that we take our brokenness to Him, we have a divine exchange of radiance that shames dissipates and there is radiance, gladness and joy. The shame and guilt make us hide from God’s presence but it is His radiance that makes us truly shine even in the midst of that pain. So, whatever weighs you down, maybe it is someone’s sin against you or your own sin of the past, release your guilt and shame and look to Him and experience the radiance only that He can give. Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we lay down our shame and our guilt at the foot of the cross. As we look to you, may we truly experience the radiance, not just on our countenance but in our inner lives. May it speak of your glory and may it speak of your grace. Thank you, Father, for the fact that we can go with our heads held high with radiant faces, thank you for doing this for us, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen. • Esther - Turnaround (Daily Devotional)
    Nov 21 2025
Hello everyone, welcome. We have been taking time to glean insights from the book of Esther. We will read Esther chapter 8, verse 2, the scriptures say, ‘And the king took off his signet ring, which he had taken from Haman, and gave it to Mordecai. And Esther set Mordecai over the house of Haman.’ This is a picture of a very powerful turnaround. By this time in Esther chapter 8, we see how the king favored Esther and her people and not just that, Mordecai was now a person of influence and accepted and Haman was not. We know that Haman set up the gallows for Mordecai. This is also revealing to us that our God is a God of redemption. He is a God who can completely change the circumstance or situation that we are in. We have seen this in the lives of so many people in scripture. A wonderful example is David himself who was just a shepherd boy but God had a great purpose for him and we see him functioning as a king, his entire life was changed. Esther as well is a wonderful example where we see she was just an orphaned Jewish girl but God orchestrated circumstances in her life such that she became the queen and now Mordecai who was supposed to be killed is favored by the king. God has revealed His redemption in what He has done in the lives of these people. Another wonderful example for us is Ruth. We know that she was somebody who had lost everything and had no hope but God redeemed her. We have the picture of a kinsmen redeemer even in the life of Ruth. As we read about what God has done, we see that He is so powerful, mighty and there is nothing He cannot do. Even when we are going through circumstances where we feel that people maybe plotting against us and we are not regarded by others, as long as we are walking aligned to the truth of God’s word, being obedient to Him and walking in humility, we can be sure that this same God who brought a turnaround in the book of Esther will bring a turnaround in our lives. He will cause us to walk in His good plans because we are His workmanship. Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you that you are a redeemer, the powerful God and the only one who can deliver us. Even as we have seen your hand in the lives of people in the book of Esther, we pray that we will see your mighty hand in our lives that you may do things and work miracles in our lives, things that we have never imaged. Thank you that you are at work. We speak and declare this upon our lives, our families, the people in our church that you will turn things around and be their redeemer and deliverer. Thank you for doing this, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen. Thank you for tuning in to Living Supernaturally, for more resources to strengthen your spiritual walk, please visit apcwo.org.
