  • Instrument In God’s Hands - Salt And Light (Daily Devotional)
    May 2 2025
Shalom and thank you for joining us to another episode of Living Supernaturally. We have been focusing on being an instrument in God’s hands. Today, our focus is on how we can be salt and light as we are called to be instruments. Mathew chapter 5, verses 13 to 14 reads, ‘You are the salt of the earth. You are the light of the world.’ When God calls us to be His instruments, He wants us to influence the world around with His love, truth and grace. Jesus used two powerful metaphors to describe this- salt and light. Why did Jesus use these metaphors? These metaphors actually communicate the essential role of what His followers must be like in this world around. Taking salt- in the natural, salt is what preserves and brings about flavor to the food that it is put in. As followers of Christ, we are called to preserve truth and righteousness in a world that is decaying morally. We are also called to add to the flavor of God’s grace to our everyday interactions. The other metaphor that Jesus uses is light. Light dispels darkness, it guides and it brings about all that is hidden and reveals truth. When we shine the light of Christ through our words and actions, we help others see the hope that is found in Jesus. Just as a lamp is not hidden but placed where it can be illuminated, we are meant to live boldly for God so that we can reflect the love of God in our families, communities and church. Our faith should be visible, not hidden or compromised by fear. Being an instrument in God’s hands means we are available for His purpose and it requires us to stay close to Him, allowing His word to shape us and live in a way that radiates His goodness. So, in whatever way, whether it is through a word or action, we are called to salt and light. In our community here at All People’s church, we believe that every believer is a minister which means that each one of us, have a calling to be salt and light wherever we are placed. We bear witness to His name and to the gospel as His instruments. So, let us take on our place and be that salt and light. Let’s pray together, Heavenly Father, we thank you for the vison that we are called to be salt and light. Wherever we go, may we preserve your truth, may we come to a place of bringing the flavor of the love of God, may we be that light that dispels darkness by bringing about your gospel. Even as ministers of your word, we pray that your Holy Spirit will equip us and will help us, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen. • Instrument In God’s Hands - One Step At A Time (Daily Devotional)
    Apr 30 2025
Shalom and welcome to this episode of Living Supernaturally. I hope you’ve been following through this series about being an instrument in God's hands. We’re looking at different aspects of what it means to be an instrument in God’s hands. So, yesterday we spoke about stepping out in faith, and how when God calls us as His instruments, He rarely shows us the way forward, but it takes faith to step out. Today, what we’re going to be looking is that even as we step out in faith, it is to move one step at a time. The Lord asks us to take one step at a time in faith. It's one step forward, trusting that He is guiding us and showing us the next step. We may see that many times, we hesitate because we want to see the next two or three steps, or even the next ten steps ahead of us before we move. There are many examples in the Bible that shows how the people of God stepped forward one step at a time. We see Moses- when God called him at the burning bush; Moses didn't feel qualified, he had a lot of objections. But God didn’t ask him to figure out the whole way out. He simply told him to go and trust that God would lead the way. Later, we see that even when the Israelites stood before the Red Sea, they were all afraid and uncertain. God told Moses to lift his staff and step forward. Only when Moses obeyed did God part the sea. Another example that we do see is Nehemiah; he had a clear vision to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem, but he didn’t do it all at once—he took strategic steps. So, taking one step at a time doesn’t mean we can’t have a vision for the big picture. In fact, having a clear vision can actually help us stay on track and keep motivated about what God’s calling us to do. Another example we see is that of Joseph, where God gave him a vision of leadership years in his teen years, but it took many years, many small steps—moving from slavery to prison, then into interpreting dreams. All these steps had to take place before the vision was fulfilled. We see that Paul was given a big vision to spread the gospel, but he went one city at a time, trusting God for each step. Having a big vision is great, but we need to trust God with the process, knowing that He reveals it to us one step at a time. It's about moving forward faithfully while keeping our eyes on Him. Walking with God, one step at a time, is like walking on a dimly lit path at night; a lamp gives you just enough light to see the next step ahead. So, taking it one step at a time keeps us dependent on God. It protects us from feeling overwhelmed and teaches us to trust God every single step. Let's pray together. Heavenly Father, in whatever you have called us, may we have faith to take it one step at a time. Lord, we pray that we will not be impatient to know everything, but as you give us a vision, may we be faithful to move forward one step at a time. help us to depend on you completely, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen. • Instrument In God’s Hands - Step Out In Faith (Daily Devotional)
    Apr 29 2025
Shalom and it is wonderful to join you here with another episode of Living Supernaturally. Through this week, over the last two days, we've looked at how we can be an effective instrument in God's hands to carry out His purpose and His plan. We looked at how we need to have willing hearts to be an instrument and how we can yield. In today's devotion, we are looking at how we need to step out in faith in order to be an instrument in His hands. When God calls us to be His instruments, He often calls us to step out in faith- moving forward even when we don't know or even when we don't see the full picture. Faith is really not about having all the answers but it is about trusting the one who has all the answers. In the Bible, we see Abraham's story- it's a powerful example of how he stepped out in faith to be used as an instrument. We see that God called him and asked him to leave his familiar homeland, all that he knew, all that he had and we see that Abraham obeyed even though he didn't even know where he was going. He had no map, he had no assurances but he had only the calling of God, he had only God's word. We see of what Hebrews writes about Abraham in Hebrews chapter 11, verse 8, ‘by faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.’ So, like Abraham when we are called and when we step out in faith, we may really not know where we're going or what the entire picture is. We may feel unqualified, we may feel uncertain or even feel fearful yet God wants us to trust Him. Being an instrument in God's hands means saying yes before we even can see the entire plan unfold. So, it's not about knowing what the answers are but it is knowing that God is in control and that He will equip us as we walk in obedience. As an instrument in God's hands, we live by what the scripture says which is we walk by faith and not by sight. The opposite of faith is fear and fear can grip us, it can scare us, it can hold us back and that's when we recognize that we must place our trust and our faith in God and not on our efforts. Faith is what keeps us moving. What has God called you for today? If it requires faith to step forward, ask the Lord to strengthen your faith to step out boldly into things He has for you and know that the Lord will be the one who directs your path ahead of you. Let's pray together, Heavenly Father, even as you call us for greater things, we pray that we'll step out in faith, that we will trust that you know the way ahead, that you will give us Lord the ability to hand over any form of control and completely trust you and walk in faith. We rebuke any fear that may come in the midst of us being your instrument, thank you Father, in Jesus' name we pray, Amen.
