In this Daily Devotion with Pastor Balla for March 23, 2026, we reflect on Psalm 52:1–4 (ESV), “Why Do You Boast of Evil, O Mighty Man?” This passage confronts the reality of those who not only commit sin but take pride in it. King David describes a heart that loves evil and a tongue that is used as a weapon—sharp, deceitful, and destructive.
This devotion highlights the power of words in the Christian life. Scripture teaches that speech can either build up or tear down. Here, the “deceitful tongue” spreads lies and harm, revealing a heart turned away from truth. Yet in the midst of this darkness comes a powerful reminder: “The steadfast love of God endures all the day.”
While human deceit is temporary, God’s truth and mercy remain constant. This Christ-centered devotion calls us to repentance, to examine our own speech, and to cling to the Word of God, which heals, restores, and gives life.
