We all hear stories almost daily now about cold cases being solved by investigative genetic genealogy. This new crime-solving tool answers the "who" question about these often decades-old crimes... but what about the why? This podcast will look at crimes solved by genetic genealogy, and examine the connection - if any - between the victim and the killer, and why the crime occurred. Each case is unique, and has its own story behind the headline. Join us for DNA: ID. New episodes will come out every other week on Mondays.Copyright AbJack Entertainment Biografías y Memorias Ciencias Sociales Crímenes Reales

Episode 185 Doe ID 'Blue Pacheco' Patricia 'Patsy' Skiple

A murdered Jane Doe was found at a truck turnout in Santa Clara county, CA in 1993. Remaining unidentified, she became known as Blue Pacheco, after her clothing and dump site location. She remained unidentified for decades, long after a famous serial killer was prosecuted for her murder. Even though justice was served, investigators were determined to give Blue Pacheco her name back – and finally, IGG allowed them to provide answers to her family. Her name is Patsy Skiple, a victim of the Happy Face Killer, Keith Hunter Jesperson.

    Episode 184 Brad Bellino

The 1972 rape and murder of 12 year old Brad Bellino in Boardman Ohio shook residents of the safe, peaceful town. The case of the little boy abducted and discarded in a dumpster was worked hard by police, but remained unsolved, even as another little boy was taken just three years later. Investigators never forgot Brad Bellino and David Evans, and when modern DNA testing technology came around, they jumped at a new chance to solve the crimes that were a scourge on the town and a black mark on the Boardman police department. Finally, thanks to updated DNA testing and IGG, Brad and David's families have answers, answers that, a half century later, came too late.

Episode 183 Doe ID: 'The Woman in the Well' Alice Spence

The remains of a female were found in an abandoned well in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada in 2006. Experts and historians placed her murder to the early years of the 20th century – but they had no idea who she was. Thousands of hours of work dedicated to identifying her were expended to no avail. And then, IGG solved the riddle of The Woman in the Well, identifying her as Alice Burke Spence. This is her story.

I like the storylines and it’s a good podcast for just one host. However, I object to the gambling and smokeless tobacco ads interspersed throughout the episode. You’re fighting for victims’ rights while shilling gambling and tobacco? That doesn’t add up.

I can’t leave reviews of individual episodes

She is easy to listen to. Most podcasts want to entertain you with boring personal jokes etc. She is factual, detailed and to the point. Thank you

Very well written, told and fact checked! Absolutely love listening every day. Great job delivering each story and making sure the victims are known not just the crime.

I've loved true crime series and forensics series for a long time, and this podcast really feeds the need to see science--when done right, and law enforcement--when done with conscientiousness--win over human ugliness. DNA and forensic genealogy are such powerful tools, and the stories of the people who get justice and the criminals who face justice after so long are well-told by a host that knows her facts and tells them with heart.

One of my don't-miss podcasts
