God sends Jonah to warn Nineveh, but Jonah flees by ship, is swallowed by a great fish, and prays from its belly. After being vomited ashore, he relunctatly proclaims repentance in Nineveh; the city repents and is spared, leaving Jonah to wrestle with God's mercy.

After Naaman is healed of leprosy by Elisha, Gehazi, Elisha's servant, secretly pursues Naaman and falsely claims Elisha changed his mind, demanding gifts and taking valuables. Gehazi hides the gifts, lies to Elisha about Naaman's visit, and pockets the spoils. Elisha, aware of the deception, confronts him and pronounces that Naaman's leprosy will cling to Gehazi and his descendants. Gehazi leaves afflicted with leprosy, exposing the moral: deceit and avarice lead to spiritual and physical ruin.
