While most modern games were pushing the boundaries of realism, Cuphead took a different approach, drawing inspiration from the 1930s style of animation. The game’s visuals were directly influenced by the works of Fleischer Studios, Walt Disney, and other pioneers of early animation. With its fluid hand-drawn characters, watercolor backgrounds, and jazz-infused soundtrack, Cuphead felt like it had stepped straight out of the past.
