The Arkansas River runs across four states and stretches 1,469 miles. In Southwest Kansas, the river has impacted political, economic, and environmental conditions in a distinctive way. Recognizing the importance of the Arkansas River, the City of Dodge City, Main Street Dodge City, and Dodge City Community College have partnered to bring together the Cultural Currents project to kick off during Dodge City Days.
