Creative Quest #16: The Busiest Month of Our Lives (For the Best Reasons Possible)

We're back! We warned you at the end of Episode 15 that our schedule was about to get particularly hectic, and it ended up even worse than expected. It was practically impossible for us to record the podcast through June, so we ended up not releasing a single episode for the entire month...and yet June was our most successful month ever! So we'd like to thank you all for taking the time to join us and get caught up on the journey so far!

If you're new here; we're Raven and Faranir and we are on a quest to break free from the 9-5 grind and live a more fulfilling life. This podcast is basically our progress journal. We can't give you all the answers on how to achieve your creative goals, as we haven't done it yet ourselves! We're still finding our feet, starting from the beginning and working our way up. Let us break down what kind of things we cover:

• Creating YouTube videos: how we record our streams and create videos from them - editing in Premiere Pro, creating thumbnails, monitoring analytics, etc.
• Streaming on Twitch: What kind of gear do you need to get started? How have we improved our streams over time? Monitoring growth through analytics, How to become a Twitch Affiliate and start making money and even better, how to become a Twitch Partner and make even more money! We're still working on that last one...
• Building a social media presence across Facebook, Instagram and TikTok: comparing results across each platform to see which ones can yield the best results as well as what impact paid advertising has through each one.
• Art and design: Raven creates all of our art assets herself; all the logos, title cards, intros, outros, thumbnails, etc. so we often dive into how important this is and what tools are available to help.
• Motivation and Encouragement: We often dig into motivational rants and encourage our listeners to pursue their passions in life and to not let anything hold them back.
• We also dive into topics such as Photography, Audio Engineering, and general tech talk for platforms like OBS, Canva, Lightroom, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro.

Making this podcast keeps us on track and holds us to account: it pushes us to keep doing better and improving ourselves and our results, and our hope is that it will also help you in your own creative endeavours. We can show you what's working for us, and what absolutely does NOT work for us; so that you can spend your time and money on the things that will give you the most benefits.

Now that we're back, what's on the agenda this week? It's an unusual one as we haven't had much time for the work that we usually discuss, so let's jump into this month's curveballs.

• We dive into Raven's mystery second job that suddenly demanded so much more time than usual and caused the schedule chaos.
• We revisit how important it is to find surprising uses for your creative skills, and how you could end up doing something totally outside the box,
• We follow up with some BIG personal news that will change everything for us over the next 6 months. We've hit a massive milestone!
• We run through some changes to Faranir's photography site and systems.
