Country music was first produced in the USA. It belongs to white people who live in the south-east region of the country. Country music style was created by the poor villagers that live in the country. 

 

This music style is a combination of Galler, Scottish and Ireland local songs. Characteristic emotions including loyalty, love, passion that belong to south-eastern people are main subjects of the lyrics of the country songs. Instruments that are used in country music often include banjo, guitar and violin. While technology improved, country music spread all the south region of the USA with radio and it was liked by many people living in that area. The popularity of country music was very high especially in Oklahoma and Alabama.

 

In 1930s, “Hillbilly music” term was also used instead of country songs . The first well-known country music musician is Jimmie Rodgers. He created “country and western” music while combining cowboy and hillbilly music. Besides, he made country music spread to wider audience by using this music in many movies.

 

Some famous rock and roll singers like Bill Haley and Elvis Presley also started their careers with country music. But the most important supporters of country music are Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins.
