Part 2 of today's show covers the biggest NHL trade of the season, Blue Jays free agency continues, and all the wrestling fallout from John Cena's last match.
Intro (0:00)
Quinn Hughes Trade to Minnesota (0:18): You never win trades like this when you're Vancouver, BUT the Canucks actually did really well here. What are the next moves for Vancouver? This makes Minnesota a serious threat in the Central Division - what else do they need to add? Breaking down the trade from every angle and what it means for both franchises.
Blue Jays Sign Tyler Rogers (6:58): Really like this move for Toronto. Rogers brings an alternate arm angle to the bullpen that adds depth and versatility. Where does the Blue Jays bullpen stand now? They continue to be the most aggressive team in free agency, building a complete roster for a championship run.
John Cena's Last Match - The Perfect Ending (14:27): The controversial finish was actually PERFECT. This was a crowd making up for lost time, giving Cena the cheers he deserved for so long, in place of the boos that were more meant for Vince McMahon - the man behind the curtain who kept giving fans anything but what they wanted.
Cena received "YOU STILL GOT IT" chants from people who, for YEARS, didn't want to admit he ever had it in the first place. And it finished the way it was always going to - not with one last John Cena 1-2-3, but with a WIN for Cena's VISION of how he wanted to go out: leaving the wrestling world better than he found it.
He did what he always promised - give us everything he had. At this point, all he had left to give was one last big match and the rub to a top guy who can carry it forward. They just didn't anticipate that crowds who for years never wanted him to win, didn't want him to lose.
Perfect ending. Just wish there were more Cena moments than just wrestlers saying thanks. NXT wrestlers shined on the big stage.
Monday Night RAW Recap: Gunther opening the show was EXCELLENT - if there was ANY doubt he was the right guy for this spot, that doubt is gone. Austin Theory revealed as the masked man - played it well but follow-up is crucial because no one's inspired yet. Rest of the show felt a touch dull. Usos vs New Day was neat but Grayson Waller's involvement doesn't make sense. Maxxine Dupri vs Ivy Nile was solid, Maxxine putting in work, but felt rushed after Natalya storyline. Nikki Cross run-in on Raquel/Vaquer was lame - Stephanie Vaquer needs these wins right now.
AEW Dynamite Preview: Three things to watch tonight including the Swerve/Hangman/Samoa Joe contract signing.
This is Part 2 of today's episode. Part 1 covered fantasy football waiver wire, Tua benching, and Joe Burrow trade scenarios.
