As we wrap up our Hosea series on Easter, we discover how this Old Testament book points to our risen Savior! Hosea paints a picture of hope for a people on the brink of destruction due to their sins - a hope that ultimately finds its fulfillment in Jesus, the Messiah. Despite our failings, God desires for us to return to Him.

This week in our study of Hosea, we see a beautiful depiction of the Lord. While He is just, He is also faithful and good. As the Lord disciplines us, we understand that it is ultimately for our benefit and our journey back to Him. We learn that true repentance requires not just our actions, but also a sincere change of heart.

This week in our study of Hosea, we are confronted with the difficult truth about God's wrath towards sin. We observe how Israel tried to cling to their sins while still expecting God's approval and blessings in their lives. God is completely just, which means that sin must be punished—either the sinner will bear the consequences, or for believers, those consequences were placed on the sinless Son of God, Jesus.

This week in our study of Hosea, we examine that though the Lord is rich in mercy, He had disapproval of Israel due to their ongoing rebellion against Him. We are encouraged to reflect on challenging questions, such as, “What sins have we excused because we believe they aren’t hurting anyone?”
