  • In 1 Peter 3:8-12 Peter exhorts Christians to love live, seek to see the goodness of days and pursue peace. His quote of Psalm 34 takes us to the story of Saul and David in 1 and 2 Samuel. There the loving kindness which David showed to Saul is a reflection of the mercy we received from our covenant LORD Jesus the anointed whom we pierced and made ourselves guilty before God. He loved us while we were still sinners. Abiding in this good news of forgiveness fills us with gratitude to forgive and confidence when we fail to do so.
