She is as comfortable in a glamorous gown as she is in a lab coat. As a dedicated medical scientist, Sumaya researches and diagnoses a range of diseases, working to improve lives through science and innovation. Her compassion and commitment have also taken her beyond borders—she volunteered in Papua New Guinea, serving aboard a hospital ship to provide medical care to communities in need.

When she’s not walking the runway in high heels, Sumaya might be found marching in boots and camouflage. She serves as a reservist in the Australian Army, balancing grace with grit with her remarkable achievements and love for her heritage,

Sumaya hopes to bring home the crown for Bangladesh and share with the world the beauty, strength, and spirit of her motherland.
