Lesson #4 in the series Lessons from Lepers.

While on the journey to see the priests, 10 lepers are miraculously healed. One leper stops, turns around, and goes back to Jesus. Why? I believe that when we consider what Christ has done for us and truly acknowledge His greatness, what will overflow will be a heart of gratitude, praise, and honor.

Magnification is the lens that enables us to see something in more detail and for what it really is. Magnifying the Lord doesn’t make Him bigger. It brings an already big, mighty, powerful, all sufficient God into clear view. AND, magnification drowns out the distractions and attacks from the enemy.

A lack of evidence is not an indication that God isn’t working in your situation and on your behalf. Position yourself to be ready to hear what Jesus says and to be ready to respond in obedience. Then, we walk by faith, not by sight. God desires to accomplish something special in you and through you. Keep trusting. Keep walking.

The requirement of the 10 lepers was to cry out "UNCLEAN! UNCLEAN" in order to announce that lepers were near, but that's not what they did. They had an opportunity to experience something from Jesus so they ignored protocol. What if we did the same?

Jesus goes out of His way to meet 10 lepers right where they're at, in the condition they're in. He erased the divide between them and met their need. He has also erased the divide between us and Him through the Cross and just like He met the need of the lepers, He's able to meet our needs today.

God sees what we cannot see and God positions people in places they could have never reached on their own.

1 Samuel 16 reveals to us that God doesn't look at what man looks at, the outer appearances. God looks at the heart and God makes this clear when He tells Samuel to anoint David to be the next king.

Do you remember the power of the Gospel or are we guilty of regurgitating words that we're no longer connected with? I was challenged while reading The Cross and the Switchblade and questioned if I had become distant from the power of the Gospel. I wonder if that's true for many of us?

What if God wants to give you the wisdom to respond to the trial, not escape the trial? Often, my prayer for wisdom sounds like someone looking for a quick escape but James teaches us in James 1 that the wisdom God makes available during the trial isn't necessarily an escape plan.
