  • Ephesians 4:17-24 | Grave Clothes to Grace Clothes
    Aug 3 2025
Ephesians 4:17–24 contrasts the futility and darkness of life apart from Christ with the transformed life we have in Him. Before Christ, we were alienated from God and enslaved to sin, but in Him, we are made new, given a new identity, and called to live in righteousness and holiness. This transformation is not about self-improvement but about the Spirit renewing our minds and enabling us to walk in obedience. Sanctification is a daily battle in which we actively put off our “grave clothes” of old habits and put on “grace clothes” that reflect our new life in Christ. While we are not saved by works, our salvation will bear fruit, and God’s grace empowers us to live in freedom, aligning our practice with our position in Him.

  • Ephesians 4:25-32 | Grave clothes to Grace clothes PT II
    Aug 10 2025
Ephesians 4:25-32 calls us to a practical and profound transformation, shedding the “grave clothes” of our old life and putting on the “grace clothes” of our new identity in Christ. Paul gives five clear examples of this change: put off lies for truth, unrighteous anger for righteous anger, stealing for honest work, corrupt talk for gracious speech, and malice for kindness and forgiveness. These shifts are not just moral improvements but reflections of the character of Christ, grounded in the forgiveness we have received through Him. By the Spirit’s power, we daily put off the old and put on the new, living out the reality of our redeemed life.

We looked at how Christ calls us to grow together into maturity—not just for our own sake, but so that we can build one another up in love and multiply disciples who reflect Jesus. As a church, this passage reminds us why our purpose is to make mature, multiplying disciples of Christ.

  • Ephesians 1:1-2 | Grace & Peace
    Mar 30 2025
In this sermon, we began our journey through the book of Ephesians by examining the profound significance of the first two verses, which, though often seen as mere greetings, lay the foundation for understanding Paul’s authority and the purpose of his letter. We learned that Paul, as an apostle chosen by the will of God, writes with divine authority, urging believers to receive and obey God’s Word. Addressed to all saints in Ephesus, the message challenges the misconception that sainthood is earned, showing instead that it is a gift of grace for all who believe in Christ, making Ephesians deeply relevant for our lives today as we navigate a world of conflicting beliefs.

  • Ephesians 1:7-10 | Part II: Spiritual Blessings In Christ
    Apr 27 2025
In this sermon, once again we turned our attention to Ephesians 1 and the spiritual blessings that belong to those who are in Christ. Paul, writing from prison, reminds us that our identity and position in Christ remain secure, no matter our circumstances—we are blessed with every spiritual blessing, rooted in God’s eternal plan and secured for our eternal future. We focused especially on the blessing of redemption, marveling at God's sovereign grace in redeeming us through the blood of His Son, and we were encouraged to respond to His grace by believing in the Son and blessing the Son.
